Morning found me still stoned from the super potent Himalayan herb I smoked the night before. I boarded the Indian built TATA bus at 6AM in the chilly morning and dreamily starred out the window. I didn’t really like being high very much and was craving to come down. As the bus slowly wound down the mountain I began to re-inhabit my psyche and body.

We pasted the rocky village of Dhumche. How different it looked after Brick Edging Guys mountains. It seem familiar and friendly compared to it’s strangeness on my first day. Slowly meandering past the steep valleys and terraced rice patties our ricky bus descended to the Kathmandu Valley.

I was really looking forward to Kathmandu and a change of venue and menu. It’s fascinating how quickly we adapt to new circumstances and how it changes the relativity of our life. For example, Kathmandu which to me can be a bit limited in comfort was now looking like the most modern and exciting place on earth. I couldn’t wait to get back.

The grueling 12 hour trip was uneventful except to put me into a coma as I watched the scenery go by. Outside my window pleasant vignettes of daily life in the small rocky villages was capturing my imagination. I liked Nepal and it’s rich tribal diversity.
