The spring flower show is being held in the first week of April. Visitors can soak up live music and local food at the two day event that begins on April 6. Also in April is the Porthleven Food festival at the end of the month. The festival will be a showcase for Cornish food and culture. May 8 is the date for Helston flora day held every year on that date. The day marks a harvest festival that has been dated back to two millennia. Another event in the first half of 2014 is the St Ives Food and Drink Festival to be held on 17 and 18 May. The beach festival takes place at Porthminster beach on a weekend.
